Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung - Publikationen

Seit den frühen 1960er Jahren engagiert sich die Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in der Unterstützung der Gewerkschaften in Afrika, Asien und Lateinamerika - in enger Kooperation mit den deutschen Gewerkschaften, den Internationalen Gewerkschaftsorganisationen und der Internationalen Arbeitsorganisation (IAO).
Die Gewerkschaftsarbeit der FES gründet auf dem Ziel freier, autonomer, selbstbewusster Gewerkschaften als unverzichtbarer Säule demokratischer Gesellschaften.
Die Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) hat es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht, die internationalen Gewerkschaftsorganisationen durch ihr Projekt "Globale Gewerkschaftspolitik" bei der sozialen Gestaltung der Globalisierung nach Kräften zu unterstützen. Dieses Projekt richtet sich auf globale Themen aus, operiert mit verschiedenen Gewerkschaftsorganisationen auf globaler, regionaler und subregionaler Ebene und bezieht weltweit ca.80 FES-Büros aktiv in die Aktivitäten ein. Die Projektkonzeption wurde dabei in hohem Maße gemeinsam mit den deutschen Gewerkschaften entwickelt.
So entwickelte die FES 2001 ein Projekt, die Beachtung der Kernarbeitsnormen der IAO und der Arbeitnehmerinteressen in Afrika zu fördern. Ebenfalls 2001 wurde u.a. ein Projekt in mehreren indonesischen Unternehmen entwickelt, die größere deutsche Bekleidungs- und Schuhimporteure beliefern - in Zusammenarbeit mit der "Kampagne für Saubere Kleidung", den Betriebsräten deutscher Unternehmen, indonesischen Gewerkschaften und NGOs: Die Gewerkschafter auf betrieblicher Ebene in Indonesien sollen unterstützt werden, die Einhaltung vereinbarter Verhaltenscodizes zu Arbeitsbedingungen wirksam zu überwachen.
